Move over Justin, there’s a new boy on the block! And hurrah, he’s British! Yes ladies, the newest and most swoon-inducing young hottie to take to the airwaves is David Jordan, the baby-faced, brown eyed, creamy-voiced boy from London. Having already had a huge top 10 hit with Sun Goes Down and support slots for both Rihanna and Enrique Iglesias on tour, (oh and counting Amy Winehouse as one of his childhood mates!) he’s pretty much guaranteed for megastardom. And we can’t think of anything we’d rather see than billboards plastered with his gorgeous bod! We caught up with him for a chat about his new single Move On and his experience of the fame game so far.
So your new single’s called Move On and is about a girlfriend acting obsessively and stalking you. Is it a true story?
No it’s all based on fiction really, just kind of using your imagination. It is a possible story, but it’s not directly from my personal life.
So how do you find your inspiration for your music and lyrics then?
From everything really. You can find it anywhere. You can find it from a garden, you can find it around kids and children, you can find it from anywhere really. You can get inspiration from anywhere, that’s what I do.
Ok, so Sun Goes Down was a huge hit, has your life changed a lot since it was released?
Not really, I still come home and do washing and sort of tidy up and stuff. I’m still the same old me.
Did you always want to be a singer, from when you were little?
Yeah, since I was like two years old.
And you never considered doing anything else?
No I didn’t ever think about doing anything else.
What’s the best freebie you’ve been given so far?
This phone that I’m on - I got it from Nokia Green Room.
Who’s the most famous person in it?
I think Enrique Iglesias or Amy Winehouse.
Wow, how do you know them?
I know Enrique because I was supporting him when he came to the UK. And I know Amy because we used to hang out when we were little.
So are they both quite good friends of yours?
Yeah they are, I mean we talk and… were friends yeah!
What was the last text message you received?
It was from my friend and it was saying thank you, because I bought her a little kitten. Yeah ‘cause her cat died so I bought her a kitten.
What’s the most cash you’ve ever splashed on one thing?
I bought my mum a very expensive diamond bracelet, when I first signed my record deal.
