In A Nutshell:
The Kooks have had a difficult task trying to match the success of their debut album Inside In/Inside Out. The record remained in the UK album charts for most of 2006 and produced knockout singles like Naïve and Ooh La. Lead singer Luke Prichard has admitted he’s desperate for new release Konk to make a big impression, but will it live up to their fan’s expectations?
What’s It Like?
After a thorough listen we can happily say that these indie gods aren’t going to be dropping off the rock radar anytime soon. The album’s brimming with catchy tracks that will no doubt be the soundtrack of your summer. Songs worth looking out for are the light and breezy See The Sun and energetic current single Always Where I Need To Be (which is a real grower). The upbeat Shine On will get you in a happy mood, as will Do You Wanna and Sway.
Killer: See The Sun, Always Where I Need To Be, Sway, Mr Maker, Do You Wanna, One Last Time
Filler: Down The Market
