People aged over 60 in the UK outnumber children for the first time, according to official figures. The Office of National Statistics (ONS) revealed 13,262,256 people were 60 or over in mid-2007 - up from 12,928,071 the previous year. Meanwhile, the number of under-18s fell from 13,119,654 to 13,111,023 over the same time period.

Do you feel outnumbered by the golden OAPs?

HAHA oldies.

Well, were moving into the baby boomers getting up to that age soon arent we? Theres a bit of a build-up there.

Actually, im a bubble age. Or at least that was what we were called all through school, but thats an Australian thing, '88 was the bicentennial here and all the babies born got all these special certificates and stuff OOH, and a shiney gold medal, but I buried mine in the backyard to try to grow a gold tree when I was little, because my mum said that 'money dosent grow on trees' so I tried to prove her wrong so I dont have it anymore. well techincally I do, I just have to remember where exactly I buried it.

I dont know what this has to do with anything actually...

I don't really feel outnumbered. I guess people are just living longer nowadays.

Yeah it kinda is, the more old people we have the more people in retirement we have. So if we have fewer younger people who are starting work who pay taxes, the less money there will be to pay for the pensions.
Ha, i did learn something in GCSE geography.

Well I don't wander around the streets feeling paronoid because I think old people are taking over, no. Why would it bother me that there happens to be a lot of old people around? At least they're not all dying...
