Batman film The Dark Knight has set a box office record for best opening weekend ever at the US box office, distributor Warner Bros has said. The sequel took $155.3m (£77.7m) in North America, beating the record set last year by Spider-Man 3, which took $151.1m (£75.5m). Critics have praised the film, which stars Christian Bale as Batman and the late actor Heath Ledger, who plays the Joker. The Dark Knight will have its UK premiere tonight.
Will you be rushing out to see The Dark Knight? And if so, is it because you love Batman films or just coz you wanna see Heath's last performance?
I really want to see this film not because I love batman films because I've never seen one before and not because it's Heath Ledger's last perfomance. I just want to see it for the fact that from the trailers it looks like a very good film :)
I'm not going because I've never seen a Batman film, and I have no wish to, but of course I'd love to see Heath Ledger's last performance, he was such an amazing actor.
I'm really not sure. He was one of my favourite actors ever since he was in 10 Things I Hate About You and his death really shook me. I can no longer watch some of my favourite films: 10 Things.... Brokeback Mountain A Knights Tale
So I really don't know if I can sit through this film. My friend wants to go and see it but then again she has never cried at a single film...not joking...The Notebook, walk To Rember, Bambi, Sophie's Choice....she jsut dosn't cry...me on the other hand..If i do go and see it I'll have to take a jumbo box of Kleanex
I'm not usually into Batman, but this movie looks immense. I cannot wait! Was supposed to be going to the premiere tonight but decided not to! Wish I went now!
Im going to see it because of i want to see Heath in it. Also, Christian Bale isn't bad either.
