This page has replaced the old Drugs Forum and will serve as a permanent page with links to drug support and information groups to help those who are concerned about drugs and drug use.
Although the Drugs Forum proved useful for some users, there were other users who expressed their concerns over it being misused. We’re keen to ensure help is always available for those that need it and feel this page best responds to that need.
FRANK is the national drugs information service supported by the Department of Health, the Home Office and the Department for Education and Skills. FRANK offers friendly, confidential advice on drugs, 24 hours a day throughout the year on 0800 77 66 00, or online at www.talktofrank.com. Calls from landlines are free and won't show up on the phone bill. Calls from a mobile vary in cost depending on which network you're on and might show up on the bill. If you are deaf or hard of hearing you can also textphone FRANK on 0800 917 8765.
How FRANK can help you talk about drugs FRANK has produced two new information booklets for parents and young people.
For parents: “Does Your Child Know More Than You?” outlines why young people take drugs and is a guide to the most commonly used drugs, their appearance, their popular-street names and what signs of drug-taking parents should look out for.
For young people: “Know the Score”, an A-Z guide designed to give young people a thorough insight into all aspects of drug-taking, making them aware of the health risk and legal implications of taking drugs. Copies of both booklets are available free by calling the FRANK helpline on 0800 77 66 00.
By browsing the website or calling FRANK on 0800 66 77 00, parents or teens can find out about the potential health risks of well known drugs and get advice and top tips on handling a drugs conversation. visit www.talktofrank.com
