Go To Top Of PageWho is MKPMOD?

MKPMOD is the moderator of the boards. They will delete:

  • Any thread that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Any thread that asks for or offers personal info including schools, mobile numbers, email addresses, other websites.

Go To Top Of PageWhy do some of the words I type get changed?

MKP filters out bad words and replaces them with inoffensive words. Bad words include swear words and attempts to give out email addresses. Please don't try and get around the filter by typing in swear words punctuated by asterisks / spaces. These will all get added to the filter and it just makes loads of work for us at MKP HQ.

Go To Top Of PageWhy can't I give out my email address / personal information / full name?

It is dangerous to reveal personal information in chat rooms. Don't reveal any contact details for yourself or your friends. Personal information you shouldn't give out includes: full name, home or school address, telephone number, personal email or mobile number. Remember people are not necessarily who they say they are in chat rooms. MKP will delete or edit any threads that attempt to give out personal info.

Go To Top Of PageA thread of mine has disappeared! What’s happened?

Threads are deleted by MKPMOD if they are unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable. Threads that ask for or offer personal info including schools, mobile numbers, email addresses, other websites are also deleted.

Go To Top Of PageSomeone is harassing me on the boards. How do I complain?

Email help@mykindaplace.com. We'll investigate and get back to you.

Go To Top Of PageWhy do some users have stars next to their names?

These are MKP's top posters. The more threads you reply to and posts you create, the more stars will appear next to your name.

Go To Top Of PageWhat is a clone?

A clone is a term used on the boards meaning a person who copies what everyone else says and lacks their own opinions.

Go To Top Of PageWhat is a hate thread?

A thread dedicated to dissing another user.

Go To Top Of PageWhat is flooding?

Typing the same thread over and over again. It's very tedious. Yawn. You will get deleted if you flood.

Go To Top Of PageWhat is banning?

When a poster repeatedly breaks the rules of the forum, they will be banned. And if they come back with another username, we'll ban them again. They will not be able to take part in any forum discussions.

Go To Top Of PageWhat is a web chat?

A web chat is when a celebrity comes into the MKP offices and chats live with MKP users. Users will be able to watch the celeb on a web cam. The chat is fully moderated. Users have to be registered to take part in the chat. Users will not be able to see their questions on the screen immediately as they are uploaded by an editor one by one. Any inappropriate questions or repeated questions will not be uploaded. A web chat takes approximately an hour and usually takes place from 4pm - 5pm on a weekday. MKP will warn you of forthcoming web chats in plenty of time.

A list of all our previous web chats is here

Go To Top Of PageWhat does it mean if a forum has Moderation enabled?

Moderation: This feature allows the Administrator or the Moderator to "Approve", "Hold" or "Delete" a users post before it is shown to the public.
Approve: Only the administrators or the moderators will be able to approve a post made to a moderated forum. When the post is approved, it will be made viewable to the public.
