Step Up 2: The Streets (PG)

The Pitch
16-year-old Baltimore born dancer Andie West enrolls in the prestigious Maryland School of the Arts in order to keep out of trouble. When she’s chucked out of her old dance crew - the 410 - for her allegiance to the MSA, Andie decides to round up her own group of fellow students and compete against them in the ultimate dance battle, The Streets. Dance off!

The Talent
The first film gave some truly talented dancers their big break and the talent is equally impressive in the follow up with Biana Evigan in the starring role as Andie and singer Cassie as top MSA student Sophie Donovan. Luckily for us gals MKP favourite Channing Tatum - the gorgeous protagonist of the first movie - reprises his role for an extended cameo and Robert Hoffman as Chase Collins (Andie’s love interest) is pretty hot stuff too.

The Verdict
If you’re going to have a guilty pleasure movie then it might as well be one with some kick ass moves. The gender and class boundaries storyline might seem a little familiar but the stomping soundtrack, genuinely likeable characters, wonderful comedy moments and of course some great eye candy make this the perfect movie for a night in with the girls.
