Hancock (12A)

The Pitch
Hancock is the anti-superhero. After a few mishaps, he finds himself out of favour with his once adoring public. Down, out, depressed and drinking too much (and not much resembling someone with super powers) he’s all but given up when he saves a man – Ray, a PR executive - from being hit by a train. Wanting to repay the favour to Hancock, Ray decides he’ll help resurrect the superhero’s career and public image.

The Talent
Once again Will Smith brings his own special brand of magic to the big screen. Is there nothing he can’t touch that doesn’t turn to cinema gold? It’s also great to see him move away from the usual ‘clean cut/nice guy’ roles by playing a bit of a rogue (albeit a loveable one). Look out for the gorgeous Charlize Theron too, who plays Ray’s wife, Mary.

The Verdict
It’s a big old thumbs up from MKP for Hancock as the combination of great stunts, comedy and plain old silliness cheered us up a treat.
