The Pitch
To the naked eye Dave might look like a regular guy, but take a closer look and you’ll see not all is as it seems. For starters his 70’s white suit looks out of place in the middle of NYC and his jerky leg movements are plain weird. This is all because Dave isn’t a real man- he’s a spacecraft carrying a team of miniature people who are controlling his every movement, thought and even his speech. He has no idea how to act or speak in front of human beings so his every move is decided for him by the captain of the ship, who looks exactly like Dave! We’ll give them this much- it's original…

The Talent
The king of multi-character acting Eddie Murphy is back however unlike his roles in films like Dr. Doolittle the two characters he plays in this film aren’t a stretch. Sadly Meet Dave doesn’t get him to flex his comedy muscles and makes us wonder if his days as a funnyman might be long over.

The Verdict
The critics have given Meet Dave a right roasting and it’s not hard to see why. Whilst the story does have some original elements, the 80’s film Inner Space covered similar territory a lot better. We’ll be honest with you – it’s a bit of a turkey.
