Lily Allen’s been a busy little lady of late. She had that failed stint as a chatshow host, a modelling gig with Chanel and most recently she’s been toying with the idea of her own jewellery business. Luckily though, one of the quirkiest women in pop is back doing what she does best - releasing 22 as her latest single from this year's well-received second longplayer It's Not Me, It's You. It’s quite appropriate too – what with Madge and her tiny toy-boy Jesus splashing across the gossip columns - Lils’ track is about how older women are deemed hopeless. While it might seem contradictory, it’s an interesting debate that not every female is Queen Madge (how many normal 50-year-olds do we see prancing round in leotards and hotpants?!). Aside from all that meaningful stuff, 22 is catchy and bouncy and features those bizarre nursery rhyme melodies that only Miss Allen can pull off.
