The Talent

Paul Rudd – who you might recognise from Clueless, Friends and Knocked Up – plays lovable estate agent Peter and you can’t help but root for him. Elsewhere, Rashida Jones from the US version of The Office plays Peter’s fiancée Zooey and My Is Earl’s Jamie Pressly is great fun as Zooey’s best mate Denise.

The Pitch

Peter has just got engaged. Only problem is, despite having plenty of platonic female friends, he has no male mate to serve as his best man. He immediately sets out to rectify the situation and after several bizarre ‘man-dates’ he soon meets and bonds with the charming, but opinionated slacker Sydney. But as the two men’s bond grows closer, Peter’s relationship with his fiancée begins to suffer and he’s soon forced to choose between his NBF and the woman he loves.

The Verdict

Don’t let the laddy premise or buddy humour of this bromantic comedy put you off because it’s still lots of fun for us girls. OK, so the female characters might blend into the background but there are plenty of laughs and seat squirming moments to make up for it. Grab your favourite boy and go see!
