Peaches Geldof has married her boyfriend, musician Max Brummey, in a secret Las Vegas ceremony whilst the pair holidayed in the US. Until recently the wild child dated Horrors front man Faris Badwan, but it seems she has jilted him in favour of a new rocker. Peaches met Max two years ago and they allegedly started dating last month when his band, Chester French, played at the iTunes Festival which she was hosting. The reverend who performed the quickie ceremony said, “I remember thinking it strange to wear sunglasses inside the chapel. They held hands and looked eye-to-eye — with him still wearing sunglasses — during the ceremony. They looked very happy together. I remember the bride looked very young and pale and quite angelic. They didn’t bring any friends as witnesses, so the photographer had to stand in. I asked them each if they agreed to love and cherish each other and they said, ‘I do’. It was over in 15 minutes. The bride changed out of her wedding dress right away — then they left. The groom wasn’t dressed up at all.”
Although the Geldof family weren’t kept entirely in the dark Sir Bob was only informed moments before the service took place. A spokesperson for the newlyweds said, “The couple tied the knot in a simple low-key ceremony in Las Vegas last week, whilst holidaying in America. Their marriage has the full support of their family and friends. Peaches and Max did not want unnecessary publicity, but following growing media speculation, have decided to set out the facts. No further comment from either will be forthcoming.”
