Is it just us or has the whole world gone Zac Efron and High School Musical mad? We feel like we’re eating, sleeping, singing, dreaming Zac this week (which is no bad thing, we might add!). The High School heartthrob has sure been busy over the last few days, having flown in to London to promote HSM3.But his stay in Blighty hasn’t been easy – the poor lad found himself at the centre of a kafuffle on Wednesday as he and his girlfriend, the very lovely (and very lucky!) Vanessa Hudgens, came out of a London theatre. Weirdly, a bespectacled middle-aged man carrying a laptop under his arm, saw him in the street and lunged at him, screaming and trying to grab his hair.
An onlooker said: “He just reached over and grabbed the side of Zac's head. There was no provocation. It all turned into a bit of a mess. He was shouting all kinds of things at Zac. Their security team eventually dealt with it. They had to bundle Zac into a car.” Eek, sounds scary!
Meanwhile Zac fever continued across town, as a waxwork figure of the star was unveiled at London’s Madame Tussards in which he appears as his HSM character, Troy Bolton.
Luckily for us fans, it doesn’t seem like Zac will be stepping out of the limelight any time soon. High School Musical director Kenny Ortuga has revealed he’ll be playing the lead in a new version of the 80s musical Footloose, saying he’ll be “perfect” for the part. And Zac himself has revealed he wants to chat to Johnny Depp and Leonardo Dicaprio to “pick their brains” about how to have a long and fulfilling career. “They do it because they love it, not because they enjoy being famous,” he said. “You have to have a good foresight and be really careful. If you don’t adapt and learn at a very young age, you can really mess up.” Something tells us Zac doesn’t need to worry about messing up. Then again, maybe we’re biased, in our eyes he can do no wrong... Swoon!
